I found a small piece of cardboard in the top floor of Tate Modern art gallery on the top floor of the Blavatnik building. I was working a Saturday, which I shouldn’t have been. Work was delayed and I was leading a team overtime that day and getting some much needed coffees for the staff that came in. I found this card just at the moment when I thought I might have exploded - so I think I was blessed with a gift from up high.

Hello hello hello. I would have been given cute little drawings on a cardboard card in 2002 in London. Or at a festival possibly. I meet you through my friend at the time, the lovely Fernanda from Brazil as fa as I remember. Last week I went to Glastonbury and a sweet mural drawing on a big house wall caught my eye and reminded me of you. I can’t remember your name but I just found my „never poke a starfish“ card. Sending love ❤️ and peace from Bristol :)

You gave this to me at a (nizlopi) gig... I was with Donna Maciocia of Amplifico at the time, should that ring bells.

Dear Moondog,
friday night I found one of your moondogs, or actually it was my friend Stik who saw it first, but he let me have it.
Sweet!!!
It was under the Overground bridge crossing Drysdale Street.
I am very happy with it.
I already have several works by Stik, one by Bortusk Leer (all bought and paid for! ), and recently I found a Duk, and a Nonose and Dr Cream gave me a bunch of Jesters (check him out if you do not know his work! ).
Thank you so much, I love it, it's wonderful.
And then I discovered your website, really nice!
What great surprises!
Kindest regards,
Claude

Hello Moondog, Cleaning my desk up after a long time, I found your cardboard drawing, theese days. Because it is a long time ago, i really can't remember where I found it for the first time. I'm Sorry. Maybe in Berlin after I've had a Gig? However l'm very glad that I do never throw away any piece of all my collected things. So I discovered your wonderful page today and I got a crush on it, immediately.
Best Wishes from Stuttgart Germany

Hello !! I was cleaning my apartment that I rent in Lisbon and I found the card!!! I got curious …...and thought it could harm nobody if I checked at a site written on card that one of my guests had forgotten in the apartment! It really reflects a piece of love by the way it is made: manually, beautifully, nice colours, nice materials and quite personally. Thank you Lloyd... What a kind surprise you left me !!!
It was really nice to find it! It will rest with me for some while and then I will pass it on. It is a really sweet surprise to say hello!!

Hi Mr. double L,
I found your card at the Marquis de Cornwallis pub in 31 Marchmont Street, Bloomsbury.I'm spending there lot of time because I'm in love with one of the barmen. That is pointless, because he prefer make me a coffee than going out with me for a coffee.

Hello
I have just found a tag buried deep within the shambles I'm currently wading through whilst preparing for our christmas party. The tag was found in a tin of my bits ands bobs. The tin was found at the back of a sideboard behind a stack of guitars, records and odd shaped side tables. Beyond this a mass of kit bags, jumpers, shoes and fancy dress created the random room of stuff within our house in Herne Hill.
I seem to remember the tag but it has for some reason decided that now it is time that I knew that Moon Dog Loves Me! Which is nice because it's my birthday. I must have buried it away sub consciously. I like your site.

I found one! I found a stocky little pony at End of the Road Festival on September 16th. Lloyd, I saw you hide it on a wall beside the Garden Stage during My Latest Novel. It was broad daylight, and I didn't have the heart. I thought, "That'd be cheating; this is not my Moondog. Serendipity will lead the right person to him." So I left the little pony.
Much later, we were watching Badly Drawn Boy. It was very dark and a curious feeling beckoned me back to that spot, just to see if he'd been found... So I returned to the giant, painted arch that bathed us all in its glow. I was mortified. The little pony was knocked on his side, and now empty beer cups surrounded and engulfed him.
I seized him from the mess. This was my a sign: this was MY little Moondog. Poor forgotten creature!
I heart this little beastie, and I will take very good care.
Yours,
Sarah Bennetto. x

It's just gone midnight, and I am soaking wet. Getting off the 328 as it started pouring torrentially, I took shelter at Westbourne Park Tube...and waiting for the rain to stop I spotted a cardboard square with 'moondog loves you' on it. Almost immediately the rain stopped.
If you bring this much luck all the time I'm keeping your ass somewhere safe.

Hi, I first came across Moondog about 3 years ago when I bought your book from the Tate Modern, after that I regularly checked the book store and your web site for the follow up. I even asked a member of staff at the Tate book shop who handed me a Moondog card but told me that the project was too expensive and that the 2nd book might never make it to print.
Last week I found one of your cards outside the Market Porter Pub near London Bridge. I was so excited to see that Moondog was still alive and spreading his love that my friends thought I was a bit odd and asked what a Moondog was. Anyway I have just ordered a membership pack so that I can educate them in the way of Moondog.
Keep up the good work and let me know if the attack of the scones ever makes it to the book shops.
Matt.

Hullo,
My the level of joy during my weekend of revelry and fun at the Secret Garden Party was sent to stratospheric levels when I came across a Moondog card amongst the mud and beer cans by the main stage. Sadly, due to the vigour of my revels, the Moondog card was lost, and the inevitable sadness was only held at bay by lots of dancing. However, it brought me brief and concentrated happiness, and I am most certainly coming to Hunga Munga on Thursday.
See you there,

Curioser and curioser
Anyway here's my little story...
I was having a coffee at Monmouth Coffee Company in Borough Market and this guy kept looking at me strangely, kind of smiling. There was no room on the bench outside so I sat opposite. He was sitting on the bench and I have no idea really if he was the one who left the card there, but when he left I sat in his place and found the card. When I looked up he was looking back at me. The card looked so sweet poking out from behind the drainpipe so I took a photo and left it there for the next person. Then you saw the photo on flickr and contacted me. So I guess I have spread the moondog love without even realising - by leaving the card where people could see it, and by posting the pic on flickr.
Feel free to post the pic...

Hello,
A few years back I bought a t-shirt from that funny little boutique thing on Kingsland Road, and when I got said shirt home, what should I find but moondog - a small white badge, winking at me from within the folds of 100% cotton. Immediately it became a favourite thing and soon found its home lording over all in my ashtray of badges. That is until New Year 2004. Like thieves in the night, theives came in the night, and exploiting the fact that everyone was bound to be out and about, drunk as the day they were born, they came in through the bathroom window (lounge if truth be told, but liked the Beatles reference), smashing it in the process and took...very little of value actually (except my decent camera and lenses, the sods) - if I am going to get robbed it could at least be by a gentleman thief, Raffles type, and not some dopey idiot smackhead. However, they also seized the ashtray of badges and moondog along with it (and to think he came so close to finding his way onto my jacket that night). I was devastated. That may be a tad strong, but I was mightily inconvenienced and bloody annoyed.
I was moondog-less in a moondog filled world. But life went on...
Then, this Sunday just gone (23rd July), I was at the Lovebox thing in Victoria Park, East London (not far from where moondog and I were parted 18 months before) and whilst trying to ignore the fact that Jamiroquai was on stage, I looked to my feet, and with no word of a lie, beneath my shoe, I saw a small cardboard square, and taking a closer look, who did I see but moondog, again offering an affectionate wink, accompanied by the legend 'moondog loves you...' It was as if he was still there, a small reminder that he will always be watching over me. He led me here...
It was quite a moment, and with the world put bang to rights, I thought I should share my story.
Looks as if the white badges, like that was so cruelly taken from me, are out of stock, but would love to get hold of another at some point.
The card has now taken its place on the very same shelf, and life is good.

I was in the notting hill arts club last night and whilst sipping on a overpriced whisky, a guy tapped me on the shoulder, handed me a card with 'moondog loves you' written on it and before i could ask any questions he ran off into the crowd. It seemed to me very odd indeed. As i inspected my curious gift, i felt as if i had been chosen for some very strange purpous, and secretly fely just a little bit cooler than everyone else because of it. I checked out the website just now and i love what you are doing. I just thought i would tell you that. So carry on doing what you are doing.
so here is the love sent right back at ya from just another regular earth dog.

Hiya. I found a little cardboard tag on the bar at the Luminaire in Kilburn on Monday evening and, being of a magpie-like nature, picked it up. It hid in my wallet until I remembered it on Wednesday morning, and is now perched janutily just below the monitor on my desk. Jaunty in this case means kind of sideways, so Moondog is eyeing me slightly shiftily out of the corner of his eye - however the world does seem to be a better place under his benevolent (if squinty) gaze.
I've attached a photo, but as exciting round-the-world photos go, a small area of desktop in Reading doesn't really cut it.
Cheers,
Elizabeth

I was given by a sweety cheerful guy in his late proud childhood and kindly but firmly asked to have a look at the website. I replied asserting I can passionately draw massive jamaican cocks and boring landscapes just like I was told at primary school. I found it moving in an extraordinary way...
All the best whatever it is to him and if I may dare a wish:
Don't stop dreaming: do it for all mankind and even for people like me who hopeless gave up with flying elefants, toys and fairies in their early 5 years old.
I hope Moondog looks at me right now with benevolent glance and will forgive my cynism still loving me so much somewhere on the pale moon...

And I love moondog! Thank you for your card. I found it in my coat on the first day of university. I was feeling a bit apprehensive but the surprise of pulling a squat, little rectangle of moondog's face out my pocket filled me with joy & its been hunky dory ever since. I think it must have been lurking in my coat for a while- I'm thinking the dog snuck into my pocket on a very drunken, deplorable night at The Troy club in London town. HmmÉ you live and learn. I like your drawings very much; you draw good. Good luck with TOMMORROWLAND, it looks really interesting- like a comic book Metropolis for a fast food world? I want to read itÉ is it done? (i'm making a graphic novel at the mo- a labour of love, it's taking a time- will finish it this year though.) If your still enlisting happy taggers to spread the moondog love, i'm your girl, i'll cover Brighton in cardboard. Hooray for moondog! All the best things (drawings, animation, good music) in one place. x

Heyo,
Found one of these tag thingums in a bar in brixton during a Misty's Big Adventure gig....I saw some guy putting it on top of a beer pump, so when he wondered off I grabbed it, and thought it was some kind of advertisement for a band. After making my friends very jealous that it was me that moondog loved the most I put the tag in my jacket pocket and forgot about it until I found it today. After discovering the site I have to say it's a really cool idea, keep up the tagging wickedness!

your lovely cards...
Hi! For some reason, I get Moondoglovesyou cards at special times... The first time I got one was at the Smelly Ball in Nov 2003, the night I met my boy..The next time, one got snuck into my bag in August 2004, the night I got the keys to my new flat and moved in with him... Please can I have another one again soon - I'm hoping we'll get married....?! I've dated and kept them and I'm hoping to get a nice collection.. Keep spreading the love around this messy city..Actually, if you're around on 20th September, spread some love into Nemo's System night at Underbelly/Zigfrids on Hoxton Square.. Nemo are playing with Trash Money and Superstudio, so it's going to be an excellent night and, even better, it's free! (www.nemointernational.com) Hope to see you soon,
Thank you!

Lloyd,
Just wanted to say hello and let you know what a huge fan I am of your work. If you need anyone distributing pieces in the NYC area, I will be taking the train back and forth every day for the next 2 years in order to teach high school English in the Bronx. I have been a huge supporter since I visited Britain last summer and went to Tate Modern--I bought the book "Art de Rue" that some of your pieces are in. (However, I'm not sure I saw you ;-) )
In any case, I have included a reference to your work in my Honors Thesis on the History of Graffiti and Society for undergraduate study. Cheers, my friend!

Hello Lloyd
I remember seeing your work in a book last year and I really loved the ideas and drawings. I recently came across your site when a visitor to my site recommended your site. Anyway, I visited your site and I almost immediately come across this pic that I've attatched (single cell amoeba). Dear Lloyd, You sound like a real do-gooder and a fun person! It think your Moondog character is really sweet! I found him in the bottom of my bag from the Tate Modern and kept thinking about how I'd better check out the web address as I had a sneaky inkling it'd be interesting! Hi, I went on a school trip to London yesterday and one of the places we visited was the tate modern (which was pretty cool) and I found your book in the shop. I just HAD to buy it. It is insane and random. Like me. I am always doing little random drawings like yours with my friend Rob (mostly in our school books hehe) so after buying the book I went and showed rob and we sat around and were amused by your amazing randomness. Rob even had to quickly run back into the tate and buy his own copy just as we were leaving. Now, Im pretty sure our friends got annoyed with us saying moondog loves you because somebody has to, and randomly quoting your book all day but it was fun none the less. And as my dad also happens to be rather insane I rang him up today and read him parts of your book, of course he won't get to see the pictures until he comes home but I'm sure he'll love them. He was pretty much crying with laughter over some bits, especially the wiffy the dead rabbit bit. He told me that if i'd seen that when I was about 8 I would of burst into tears, not laughter. So I can home today, and I checked out your website and decided I must email you and tell you how awsome you are. So hi, you're awsome. And Im gonna try beg my mum into letting me order a membership kit thingy or maybe even a tshirt from your site, Im also planning to buy the second book, when will it be out? Maybe you should include spleens and killer bees in it. oh and watermelon minions. They continually feature in my random drawings. I will make a book one day and send you a free copy. It will feature the especially amazing drawing of Humprho the evil lion that me and rob drew. It was the best picture we ever drew. Humphro ruined the picnic and killed people with his adorableness (think stick people running away screaming NOO THE CUTENESS IS KILLING ME). He also ate their legs so there is a lot of red pen. I know this email is getting way to long, and you probably want to stop reading it and go eat scones (which by the way, my mum makes the yummiest ones ever and if you're ever in norfolk you can pop in and have some) but I just thought I'd tell you about a website that you might like, its pretty damn cool and you might of seen it before, www.toothpastefordinner.com some great stuff on there. Anyway, keep up the randomness and send moondog my love and scones.

Hello moondog, My name is Paul and I found your tag at Glastonbury on Sunday 27th June 2004, right after listening to the fantastic Suzanne Vega in the acoustic tent, (what a festival) with a lovely girl called Lisa, should have got her phone number. Maybe one day soon our paths will cross again. Love the website and would like to find more cards or spread the word if you could send me some.
Cheers,
Paul

Hey there, it's spacetribe from Faceparty. I've just found an actual moondog plaque around London. And there i was thinkin it was all a myth. It was down an alleyway near the Thames and a Starbucks. I randomly saw it there and damned myself for not having a camera with me

Hi. My name's Miguel Rocha, a.k.a. Kmr (as in Kimahri).I saw a tag of yours in 13th March 2004 in front of St. Paul's Cathedral, on a wooded sign. I'm from Portugal, and I was on a fieltrip in London from 10 to 14th March 2004 with lots of friends of mine. I saw the card, and since I collect flyers, I thought "Why not?" and picked it up. My first thought was "It's probably a boyfriend, wanting to tell the whole world that he loves her girlfriend. It's quite common here, you know? Sending SMS to the TV saying "I love you so much, don't ever Leave me!". But then I thought (today, when I saw your tag on my wall) and I was curious to check out the site, to see if it really exists or not. I entered the website and I was amazed! It's not a tag, IT'S A MOVEMENT! Everybody sees your tag! IT'S ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! If I may, I would like to belong to that movement, to spread it through Portugal.. May I? ...
Best wishes, Miguel Rocha.
PS:I don't know what's your message (besides buying scones), but the website gives a state of mind that is incredible. It looks like something romantic. I just can't explain it. But it made me feel real good when i entered the website, saying "to enter, click here", followed by that awsome music. Keep up the EXCELLENT good work!

Hey Moondog, I bought Art De Rue last week in London, and your stuff caught my eye straight away. Unfortunatley I have not had the privilege yet of seeing your work in the flesh, so to speak, but I was over the moon to see that you wanted people to contact you to offer their services as distributors? Well, I'd love to do it. I live in Leeds most of the year, but my parents live in Geneva, Switzerland, so I visit there alot. Also, I'm going to New Zealand for a while this summer, and Amsterdam is on the books too. As you can see, I travel a fair bit, so the opportunities for spreading your work are here. Let me know.

Hey Moondog I thought you might be interested to learn of another Moondog in the world. When I went to SanFran in 1997 I made friends with a nice group of people including a sweet and eccentric couple. The boys' name was Moondog and the girls' Suncat. :0)

Hello Lloyd, I found a tag at Glastonbury last year. It's been sitting in my 'things I love' dish along with some glass beads I was supposed to take to Joe Strummer's memorial (but couldn't find ;o)). Hope to get tagged again so I can pass it on but I have to keep this one. Come and visit us at www.mindlessbanter.net if you're going to the festival this year or even if you're not.

Hi Lloyd I found a tag in the middle of the street next to the Betsy Trotwood pub on Clerkenwell Road. After a long, long day at graft it did make me grin. Almost Golden Ticket stakes! Then I found a small pink monkey on my home street the next day... I don't think that can be related to you but is someone, somewhere trying to tell me something I wonder??! Best send me a pack quick please : )

Hi Lloyd, Found one of your Moondog tags lying at the base of a tree walking up towards Rosebery Avenue, can't remember the name of the street exactly. I was coming back from an interview on the 7th which had just gone badly so was feeling peeved off and was looking for things to take with my Lomo camera and spotted the Moondog tag lying on the ground, intrigued, picked it up, put it in my pocket. Really nice. Wasting 40 quid on a train ticket with a three and a half hour return journey was worth it for finding the tag and the website. Think I may consider joining and getting a t-shirt when I can raise some funds. I'll consider dotting the moondog tags around here even though I can't get down to the club nights. Cheers

Hello Lloyd, i seem to have missed the boat but i found one of your tags near Selhurst Park on top of a bollard. I think it is second hand cos someone has scrawled on it “f*ck off rover” and “woof woof” they obviously didn’t check the site cos if they did they would have seen it’s pretty cool. Anyway I’m more than willing to spread the word for moondog. Adios friends.

I found moondog at a bus stop outside Highgate tube station earlier this year. I kept forgetting to look at the website until now, but moondog has been following me around all this time, making me happy whenever I notice him and remember how much he loves me. I'm currently in Kuwait, where moondog and I have been residing for six months, enjoying the weather; next month I will move to Hyderabad, India. The dog will come along, of course. I'll send pictures when I get the chance.

hello. I found moondog in Hoxton. Moondog loves me because i'm different. i think that's a pretty good justification for loving me. This has confirmed in my mind that Hoxton is one of the very best places there is. If only it was in west london... but hey, at least moondog is now in west london. I would very much like to spread Moondog's love amongst west londoners. Would moondog please send me a members' pack? Thanks! x

Hey hey - I found one of your tags at The Bedford, Balham during a Nizlopi gig. The slippery little fella had worked its way under my pint glass. I pocketed it feeling blessed. Since then I've had a startling run of good luck. Could it be that the little cardboard square is a talisman with magical properties? Probably not. I'll keep it about my person for the time being though.

I just came back from Amsterdam and landed myself in Liverpool Street Station. Still high from dutch weed I was terribly hungry and then I saw those scones calling me: "eat me Jud, eat me". I got closer and then I saw it! Just in front of them, nicely leaning against the glass there was a funny tag calling me too: "take me Jud, take me". So I went home with a big smile in my face, the tag in one hand and the the scone in the other. What a good welcome!

hi lloyd, thought i'd send you this photograph i took of one of your tags. i actually dropped this myself, but as it was on a remote corner of the isle of skye in the hebrides, scotland i figured it'd be unlikely that the finder would have a camera and thought you'd like to see where these are being dropped. does this count as the most remote place that's been tagged ? what's the weirdest place anyone's found a tag ? not sure where about you live btw, but i went in a new shop in shoreditch at the w/e that's just opened opposite dreambags and saw they were selling your stuff. cool and the gang man ! keep on trucking.

the tag i found was hidden in a hole in a fence at a bus stop by highgate tube station in north london.i was staring around and saw a note hidden very discretely in its place. put it back for the enjoyment of others to find and ment to go on the website. i got the name wrong and was on my way back home from college the next day and found it again.just went on the website this afternoon. the site's brilliant! in future im gonna look out for more just for the enjoyment of finding them. its back in its place so if anyone going by the muswell hill road bus stop in highgate is reading this(i doubt it) then have alook by the phone box and you'll see it.

Hey Lloyd!... My friend found one of your MoonDog tags whilst we were on our way to see Bjork at the Hammersmith Apollo, he was so excited and I thought it was wonderful too! The second time we saw her he found two more! and you're right, it has become a sort of addiction. Whenever I'm in London I'm always hunting for new tags but haven't found anymore yet. .... I would love for you to send me some tags and I will happily spread the love in various locations, I will also wear my badge, eat more scones and definitely be at bod on 28th. I have listened to samples of the bands/artists that will be there on the night and they sound great. I regularly check your site and I love it! Everything is so cool and unusual... I love your ideas and your website is fantastic, I am very excited about the bod event and would be thrilled to meet you.... Robot monkey slaves are a must, you'll never cope on your own, I'm sure there are a few robot monkey slaves at my school, they could help =) I would be very interested in any new books you create, let me know when they're finished and I'll purchase them. I think what you're doing is fabulous, it's a great way of getting your art seen and I'm sure it is/will be extremely popular. It's always nice to find something secret. Do you like Banksy's art? My friend and I went to his show/exhibition on Sunday, it was brilliant. I like the way you both create art that anyone can see or find

I appreciate art & eccentricities of all forms and your artwork reminded me a little of Tim Burton's depictions in his book 'The Oyster Boy'. Keep up the good work & spreading the light & love in London... Checked out your website too, very cool...Such a diverse & unique sight, was pleasantly surprised..Also where can i buy this book, want to spread the joy to many other fellow artists.. All the best, kind Regards,
Brodie

Dear Lloyd, I am writing on behalf of my boyfriend who found the tag suspiciously placed atop his book shelf in the living room of his small New York apartment. He ignored your tag for several days until I insisted that we follow up at www.moondoglovesyou.com. I have several suspects in mind from whom the tag might have come. The case is afoot. Onward and upward.
Yours,
Miss K. Henley

Being a purveyor of fine street art I was delighted to discover a moondog disc peering down at me as I wandered down Brick lane a few days ago. At first I wasn't sure whether I should leave him or take him home. Luckily I did. He makes me smile. Hurray for moondog!

Hey lloyd i found another one of the moondog tags late friday night, when i was walking back from central london. I found the tag in old street near the dragon bar tucked into a street sign. This is the forth tag i have found, two of which i have given to friends. I felt a little cheeky taking it as i have one already, but it is a different tag to the one i have, so i had to take it to join the other moondog tag i have. Looking forward to the party. All the best Mark.

Hi lloyd.. my first encounter with moondog love was just a few short days ago, when i found a 'never poke star fish' tag on an art school table within the confines of Christs Hospital art school, ruled by the evil yet very knowledgeable (in pots anyway) dictator MIKE. I shouted out of sheer delight for someone to tell me where this heavenly tag was sent. A boy with jet black hair and a quiet shrug turned to me and said the words 'moondog loves you' nothing was said for 2 days. On the eve of friday, somewhat wild in these parts ,i was alone, quickly and somehwat shiftitly walking up a road known to the locals as 'Harry's alley' when the young dark haired boy siddled up to me out of the darkness and slipped what i could only determine to be a piece of cardboard in the dimness of that night. When i enetered my strange abode fondly named the fox, the bright lights revelaed to me that this piece of cardboard was , yes, a moondog tag, sending love to me in this far corner of the globe. It filled my with happiness and smiled for two whole hours, til my cheeks ached, then i went to bed. THank you Please send me some tags so i can share the love
Thank you so much BYE xx

I found one of your lovely tags tucked behind a pipe whilst waiting for a train at Liverpool St. tube station. It must have been fate that led us there as we soon discovered that we were on the wrong platform to get to Victoria (subsequently we missed our coach back home). Anyhow, your tag is now residing in Bournemouth creating a small but worthy ripple of interest. Thank-you.

Dear Lloyd, Thanks for the message - I found you on the Bjork fan profiles' site [I am "shape"], and really liked your work. I also like your "crazy schemes": alternative ways to reach a public, these commerce-driven days, are very exciting... I'd be delighted to receive my goodies and leave any extra cards you may wish to send me at select bookshops and record shops (can't promise much about bars and clubs! ;-)) in Athens [leaving them just ANYWHERE would be quasi pointless, I suspect]. Keep up the good work! Thanks and best wishes,

I left my bag in newport pagnell services. i was travelling southwards along the m1. newport pagnell is my favourite services. i once bought a watch there from some car salesmen cashing in on sweeteners after a product launch. on that occassion, i was travelling north, to nottingham. this time, i was heading for london, from the far away towns. whenever i make a journey of longer than 2 hours, i take a flask, because i like good coffee and hate paying for not good coffee. i drank some good milky coffee in the car park, but wanted nourishment as well. i bought a mixed berry muffin, not the best quality, a little bit plasticky. BUT, strange things can happen. inside the muffin was a small rectangle of cardboard with a picture of MOONDOG and a beautiful message. i will never return to the far away towns. god bless you, moondog.

Hi! Why were my sister and I pulled into going on a spontaneous walk around our part of London, on a Thursday night in May at 9pm??? Maybe it was because my sister wanted to get out of revision... maybe it was because I was bored of staying in all day with naff all to do... but at the end of the night at around 11pm at Borough Market, we found our true purpose. Our divine path, our Holy Grail. WE FOUND A MOONDOG TAG!!! It was stuck behind a Borough Market sign, very inconspicuous, and obviously meant for us to find it. And now we have joined that ever growing group of Moondog lovers, sharing our love along the way! Yay! Please send us some tags so we can help others find that perfect moondog love!

London Bridge, Monday morning. Not the greatest time or indeed place. But then.... 'Hey, what's this? moondog loves you...' I was confused. Intrigued. Perplexed. And finally consumed with the joy that I'm sure only fellow tag finders experience. My life now has meaning. This is the way it is supposed to be. Placing the sacred tags behind advertising hoardings and other hard-to-reach places is now my mission. I can of course only do this with your help. Please, please, please let me get what I want. Send me some tags. I will love moondog forever because moondoglovesme. And you, fellow reader........
Many glorious thanks from Simon.

Dear guy who draws cartoons on cardboard and leaves them on the streets for me to find, My friend and I were backpacking through Germany and I was amazed how much graffiti there was, in English. I didn't notice it at first, but then I thought, "This graffiti really speaks to me." I thought collecting trinkets and souveniers were for suckers and housewives so I collected beer costers and punk stickers of defience. My favorite was a small sticker of David Hasselhoff giving us the thumbs up. The title above him said, NIGHTWRITER. I used to watch that show as a kid, but I don't remember David Hasselhoff writing anything. One day in Berlin we came across a small cardboard tab that had a cartoon on it, drawn in what seems like white-out and sharpie. Two, people? I guess, are facing each other, one has a baby. The one without says, "He certainly has his father's eye." I laughed and took it and have stuck it on my wall beside my computer frame with my collection of beer costers. These trinkets might make me a sucker, but I still like looking at them. I see now that this a movement. A Moondog movement that is sweeping the world, one idiot who picks up trash/graffiti/found art at a time. Send me some more tags and I'll pass them around LA. I'm sure no one's done this in LA yet.

hey lloyd, This is Jo one of your many fans... i tried to email before but im computerly challenged and this small feat created many problems. Anyway.. just a note to say how much i loved your book, i was one of the friends of gemmas in the Tate,we were all wetting ourselves laughing getting many wierd looks from tourists and refined british families on days out, as teenagers we found this add to the funniness. I wrote this mainly to tell you how cool your work is and that you have stated a craze. In the college i go to moondog is spreading very very quickly and you are becoming famous among us. I have recently got into Graff and am currently doing a photo album for my big bros b/day of Graff know any where good to shoot some films? Send me more information.

hello, a work colleague found one of your tags at London Bridge (now proudly displayed at work along with all the other interesting detritus we collect). Like your site - first thing i thought when i saw it was 't-shirts' so glad to hear they're in the pipeline. And toys too, oh goody. i would like some of your free stuff please! Including tags. Shame i've had most of my hol's this year, not going away till end of summer, otherwise i could have tagged Montpellier, New York and Carcasonne. Bum. Anyway, i'm willing to dog-tag anywhere i find myself until then. thanks

Lloyd It is an honour to have discovered your website. I think that the way which you are trying to publicise your work is novel, fantastic and, above all, cool. I discovered your website because of, well its a long story... Right. My name is Richard O'Brien, and I am studying law at Durham uni, way up north. SO imagine the excitement when I'm walking through Boston (as you do) and I notice a sign in a bar about some geezer called 'Moondog O'Brien; bail bondsman and first class ambulance chaser. As a result, I acquired the nickname 'Moondog' from my mates. Quite a cool nickname; very original and unusual. One of my mates was in London this Easter (registering for the London marathon), near Bank or Temple he thinks. He happened to spy one of your fantastic 'dog tags' attached to a lamppost. He said he actually thought it was a trick by me, and that I was near by. But anyways, he gave me the tag for my birthday (incidently, it was the best present I got - it made me laugh so much!). I checked out your website yesterday, and here I am now... I thought I was the original and one and only, but obviously not - It is fantastic to know that an alternative world of Moondog has been created, and is expanding. Keep up the good work I'd love to spread the word further up here (and also to New Zealand; I'm 90% sure I'll be going there at the end of the summer for a year), so PLEASE can you send me some more dog tags. Remember that Moondog loves you too

I found the cute tag next to the light board I was running a few minutes earlier at a theater in Manhattan. I go away to take care of something and Moondog is there when I return. What a pleasant surprise.

Hi Lloyd, My cat Jim received TWO tags in the post this morning much to his delight. I'll spread the word for him amongst my retired neighbours in sleepy Seaford, so you may well see scone sales soar on the south coast.
would love some tags for the oldies and boarders!

I was another one who found a moondog tag at London Bridge Station. My girlfriend was very confused as to why I was picking up bits of rubbish but luckily I perservered and found this little website!

I found a tag tucked into an advert on the tube. Were you the person responsible?
if memory serves it was the jubilee line somewhere between green park and kilburn.

In Jan of this year I went back to London ( I used to live there) for a visit. I found your book in the Tate Modern and bought it for my boss. She loved it. I want to help. Send me cards. God knows the people of New Jersey could use some fun. I think you may be just what they need.

Hi Lloyd, i just signed up for club, i found your site via jon burgerman's site.i would really like to help you spread the word of moondog, if you send me some tags i will stick them around on my travels, also if you need someone in the leeds area to distribute your book for you, i sell all sorts of bits by mail order, your book would go well in my lists. if you are ever in the leeds area i am trying to put together a art collective of somekind, where people can swap skills, learn new stuff or just sit in the corner and doodle, if you know anyone who is interested let me know... hope to hear from you soon.
